Calling all Lions!
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Rideau District High School!
With a new year, we have a chance to start fresh, and I am full of optimism and enthusiasm for the opportunities and growth that lie ahead for our students. Our rural setting is more than just a backdrop; it’s an integral part of who we are. The close-knit community, the beautiful facility, and the strong work ethic we see daily all contribute to what it means to be part of the Rideau community.
Our school offers a wide range of programs, from a strong academic core, to arts, photography, construction, manufacturing, and transportation. We are excited this year to add some new after school programming options, including band, landscape design and robotics, as well as our wonderful drama and musical theatre programs. Our facility includes a large greenhouse which will be well used this year!
As well as classes, our staff and community offer a wide range of clubs and sports to enhance student life. We strive to foster a supportive atmosphere where each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to inspiring curiosity, encouraging perseverance, and celebrating every success, big and small.
We also recognize the vital role that parents and community members play in our students' education. Your involvement and support are crucial in helping us create a positive and engaging learning environment. We encourage you to stay connected, participate in school events, and share your feedback with us. All families enrolled in MyFamilyRoom will receive a weekly What's Up newsletter on Sunday evenings with a calendar of events and important reminders.
As we move forward, let’s work together to build on the strengths of our community and ensure that every student has the tools and support they need to succeed. Here’s to a year filled with growth, achievement, and memorable experiences for all.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Nancy Keech
